I played the Brawl out of my system and got to know a few furries on an acquaintance level. I took advantage of my time alone to do browsing around the con. I did some more art searching and scavenging, got a few sketches done, and wandered about. I took a seat on a deliciously comfy couch from the hotel and just observed the activity and hub ub from the convention goers. It was pretty nice to detach myself a bit from the commotion and just watch.
Now it was time to go in for the real deal. I mustered up some courage, for I realized I should really socialize, this being my first time here and all. I was alone in a world I didn't know and figured a friend would be best. I did not end up getting the friend I wanted to find, but I did meet a few friendly furs. This wouldn't be so bad after all! I can do this. There was more scurrying about, but nothing really worth mention.
It was now nighttime officially and my wandering left my legs rather sore, so I decided I should sit down or stay in one area for awhile. Maybe the gaming room? So, I headed up to the direction of the gaming room and almost reached my destination when I got distracted. I saw a wonderfully crafted fursuit, one that caught my attention like no other had before this. The others had made me a bit uncomfortable, but this one appeared different to me. In my books, it's the first one I really wanted to high five or something. There was elaborate work put into it and I was caught up in looking at the craftywork until I realized I was in a panel room. Panel room? Alright. A large amount of the events are panels and they're good for learning and socializing or something? No idea what it's aboot, but might as well give it a shot. (I said a silent prayer to myself about hoping it was something cool)
I guess my prayers were answered. Even though it was a topic I had no experience in, it still kept me entertained plenty. Ceramics was the name of the game and I was more than ready to accept its challenge. Two hours of learning an introduction to making animal ceramic things, yet it did not seem like two hours to me. About four pages of notes later, I was oddly pulled towards giving ceramics a shot. The teacher of the panel was phenomenal and gets an A. Kickass first panel and fully breaking my anthrocon panel virginity.
The next hours in all honesty were rather dull compared to the rest. I was tangled up in playing Brawl and BlazBlue. Nothing really worth mention.
Now for the real shindig shabam shaboom, the dance. I was browsing through the tiny (yet helpful!) event book for anthrocon after a break from gaming to find a dance. They had a convient block schedule for events and the dance seemed almost endless. A 4 or 5 hour event? Snap, have to get in on that. Unknowningly, I was headed to a huge event during the con, not prepared for what was about to happen to me next. I arrived outside of the dance to hear blasting techno and see multicolored strobe lights going absolutely batshit insane. Dance? Looked more like a rave to me, but no complaints there.
